  1. A) In material specification, all master inspection characteristics (MIC) entered must have a plant (this is true because all MIC when first created must be plant specific anyway). The Inspection Plan header's Plant field is always mandatory.

  2. B) In material specification, it is not possible to enter a QM work center. However, in the Inspection Plan operation, the work center field is allowed but optional. Therefore, one can create both MS and IP without the QM work center.

  3. C) There is no header data in material specification unlike the Inspection Plan. With the Usage and Status in the Inspection Plan Header, you can have more control over the selection of the Inspection Plan when the Inspection Lot is created.

  4. D) In material specification, you can only enter/assign already created master inspection characteristics. However, in the inspection plan you can assign the master inspection characteristics or enter a description with the necessary inspection data such as qualitative or quantitative and control parameters such as tolerance.
