Answer: A, E
ReplyDeleteA) Accounting view is not necessary, a material with "UMBW" material type (non valuated material) without accounting view can be subjected to MRP run.
ReplyDeleteB) Yes, without the Purchasing data view, MRP run can generate not just a Planned Order but even generate a Purchase Requsition. But you cannot convert it to a Purchase Order.
ReplyDelete(A message "Material XXX not maintained by Purchasing" will be issued when you try to convert the MRP generated PR into a PO)
C) The Availability Check Group in the MRP3 view is not necessary for MRP run.
ReplyDeleteD) No, you do not need the Purchasing Info Record during an MRP run for a material.
ReplyDeleteE) Data in MRP3 and MRP4 view are not necessary especially for Consumption Based Planning. The data in these views are for:
ReplyDelete. BOM Explosion Control
. Repetitive Manufacturing
. Availablity Check
However, when you create a material with MRP1 and MRP2 view, the system will go ahead to create all MRP views (including MRP3 and MRP4 view) when you save the Material Master. But the data fields in the MRP3 and MRP4 view will be blank, you may find the Period indicator for Forecasting defaulted as "M" in the MRP3 view but that field is not used during the MRP run.
