Question no 1869 : Planning Error

In SAP MM and PP ECC6.0, the planner creates a material master with a re-order quantity of 500, all the other necessary data views were appropriately created. He/She then executes the single item single level MRP run in MM but the system prompts an error “Planning for material M1 will not be automatically carried out ..”. The planner checks the stocks and confirms the stocks quantity is zero”. Subsequently, the planner checks the planning file for the material and realized that it was not created.

What could have gone wrong ?

(only one answer)

(A)   Minimum lot size was more than 500, it was mistakenly set as 800 and MRP cannot compute correctly.
(B)   The procurement type in the MRP 1 view was blank as it was not entered during the material master creation step.
(C)   The MRP type in the material master was mistakenly created as “ND” for no planning.
(D)   Purchase info record has not been created yet; therefore MRP cannot proceed.
(E)   Purchasing data view was not created yet, therefore MPR cannot proceed.

  1. A Material can have an MRP view with and MRP type that is not valid for SAP R/3 MRP run such as "ND" (No planning) or "X0" (Planning in an external system).
