A)    It is not mandatory to assign catalog profile to the Notification type.
B)    The same catalog profile can be assigned to both Notification type and Order type.
C)    The catalog profile created in the customizing is plant dependent.
D)    The same catalog profile can be assigned to the material master, equipment, functional location, or notification type.
E)    It is always mandatory to have a catalog profile when creating a Notification type.

  1. A) In the Standard SAP system, the catalog profile is not mandatory to be assigned to the Notification Type.

  2. B) Catalog Profile are not relevant to the Maintenance Order Type.

  3. C) Catalog Profile creating in the IMG are not organizational dependent and can be used for any organization within the same client. However, use of Catalog Profile is limited to PS, PM, CS, QM and therefore it is important to think about its coding and final use in different companies.

  5. D) In Plant Maintenance, the catalog profile can only be assigned to the Notification type, Equipment master or Functional Location; but not possible to assign in the Material Master. Catalog Profile assignment to the QM data view in the material master is only relevant for QM processes.

  6. E) In the standatd SAP system, the assignment or use of catalog profile is not mandatory. If not catalog profile can be found when a Notification is created, you are not able to enter any catalog codesbut you may proceed to save the Notification.
