  1. A) is False because an equipment category can be assigned with both internal and external number range. However, if you decide to assign only internal or external number range; that is also possible. There is also a separate configuration to the equipment category that can dis-allow alphanumeric equipment number creation.

  2. C and D are both False as there are no number ranges for Functional Location. However, the externally entered Functional Location coding must abide by the rules of the Structural Indicator. The Structural Indicator is configured in the IMG. The Structural Indicator contains an Edit Mask and the number hierarchy when you create the functional location.

Refer to the following IMG for a better understanding:
IMG - PM/CS - Master Data - Basic Setting - Technical Objects - Functional Location - Create Structural Indicator for Refererence/Functional Location.

  3. E) is False as the number range for Equipment Category as well as Structural Indicator for Functional Location are both configured at the Client level.
