    One of the main difference between the Equipment and Functional Location is that the Functional Location cannot be link to a material/serial number; therefore, you cannot bring back to stock the Functional Location after un-installation. And Warranties cannot be assigned to the Functional Location; at least as at ECC6.0

    Both the equipment and functional location can be assinged to a class for classification purpose, however the class type used ise different. One uses class type 002 and another uses class type 003.
