  1. In the Enterprise Definition:
IMG - Enterprise Structure - Assignment - PM - Assign Planning Plant to Maintenance Plant
You can find that for each Maintenance Plant, you can only assign ONE Planning Plant.
However, the SAME Planning Plant can be assigned to multiple Maintenance Plant.
(the purpose is to design for central planning and individual planning)

  2. In the following PM IMG:
    IMG - PM/CS - MainPlan/WC/TL/PRT - Basic Setting - Define Planner Groups
You can create one or Planner Groups for each Planning Plant. However, the Key for the Planner Group is not unique; for example, Planner Group M01, M02, M03 can be assigned to Plant 1000 and 2000.

  3. When creating a Technical Object, if the technical object is assigned to a Maintenance Plant; the Planning Plant will be defaulted from the customzing of (Enterprise Structure Planning Plant assignment to the Maintenance Plant). Of course, unless the Technical Object is created without assignment to a Maintenance Plant, then the Planning Plant entry is manual. (In this case, the Planning Plant entry is optional in the Standard SAP system)

  4. The Planning Plant assignment in the Task List is unique to the Group number + Counter. Therefore the same Group number but different Counter, each can have a different planning plant assignment.

  5. In Standard SAP delivery, when creating a Maintenance Order, one must enter the Planning Plant manually or it can be defaulted from the technical object. The Planning Plant field is mandatory.
