ReplyDeleteSAP Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) is a purpose-built application used to optimize the sales and operations planning process by balancing supply and demand in a profitable way. In the SAP ERP system, a product group can be used to combines other product groups and materials according to whatever criteria best meet the needs of your enterprise; for example, manufacturing procedure, product design, or market niche. A product group is multi-level if it contains other product groups. However, the lowest level in a product group hierarchy always consists of materials; it is like a Bills of Material except its purpose is for the S&OP process in the SAP ERP system. Next the Product Group Plan can be created either using forecasting form sales history read from SIS (Sales Information System), manually planned or deployed from other systems. Inventory Planning then enhances the plan to develop the Production Plan. This is then disaggregated using the Product Group structure ratios to demand planning, the disaggregation process then creates the planned independent requirement which is now available for DRP, MPS, or MRP planning.
