  1. A) In the initial screen of MRP run transactions eg: MD01, MD02 etc; you can select 'Creation of MRP List depending on Exception Messages' in the Creation Indicator field 'Create MRP List'. This indicator allows you to decide if MRP List will be created depending on if there are any Messages created for a Material during an MRP run. In this case all Material with MRP List created after an MRP run are only those wuth Exception Messages. The Planner can then focus on these list list of Materials with Exception Messages.

  2. B) Exception Messages are created interactively the the system when demand supply relationship changes and not necessarily through an MRP Run.

  3. C) Yes, in the IMG in the Evaluation sub-folder under MRP, the Exception Message detail contains an indicator for you to de-activated its use. However, beware that this setting is at the Client level.

  4. D) There are 8 Exception Message Group standard delivery by SAP. SAP is pre-configured with Exception Messages assigned to each Exception Message Group. However, you can re-assign Exception Messages to a different group in the IMG.

  5. E) When viewing an MRP Element in the MRP List or S/R List, you can find one Exception Message field for each MRP Element. However, each MRP Element can have one or more Exception Messages. You can find out if there are indeed more than one Exception Message to each MRP Element when you select to view the MRP Element detail.
