About SAP LIS (Logistics Information System) or BW (Business Information Warehouse), the LIS (Logistics Information System) updating programs is the key to the entire LIS concept is that it:

  1. B) it does not really copy the OLAP database, but rather extract the relevant set of data for a certain purpose of analysis into LIS structures. These structures are called dimension tables and fact tables. It is these methods of the LIS that allows capabilities such as drill-down that enables analysis for decision making.

  2. C) It does not enhance but rather 'summarize' in a way, as the LIS data is for management decision making while the OLTP reporting are for daily use as they are 'flat' records.

  3. D) This question is a little awkward as it is believed that while the BW or LIS system is not meant to filter data but to re-structure it for management decision making. The layers of programs during extraction and harmonization; one presume as these are ABAP programs, you can do whatever you like to the in-coming data before staging it into the LIS info structure of BW data cubes. (it is a difficult answer to chose, but personally I would opt it out).
